George Clooney is not really your stereotypical action hero, he’s suave and sophisticated for sure. But, does he have what it takes to really get his hands dirty.

In his latest outing The American, Clooney plays an assassin called Jack who is on one last assignment before he retires. Of course nothing goes smoothly for him and he’s soon caught up with a love interest as well as befriending a local priest.

However with a long list of enemies Jack has to be careful who he trusts and must make sure that he does not let his guard down at any cost.

The trailer below certainly looks good, and is enough to wet the appetite for any fan of Mr. Clooney, however whether he follows in the action footsteps of a Bourne or Bond will be left for others to decide.
