Chris Nolan gets his own poster

This might only be a mock up but Christopher Nolan has his own Dark Knight Rises Poster, and rightly so.

The man behind the camera for all three films looks decidedly smug while getting pelted with rain and rubble, he’s smug because TDKR is open in the UK at the end of the month and may well set a few box office records.

Given all the hype of another comic book film only a few months ago there will be massive expectations that Nolan will deliver yet again another sublime film, of which will be his last of a very successful franchise.

Personally I’d like to see similar posters for other directors, what about Simon West from The Expendables 2?

Six immensely wicked Dark Knight Rises posters

The Dark Knight Rises promotional push looks to be gathering some momentum with the release today of six ultra cool character posters.

The one-sheets feature Batman, Catwoman and Bane and each has a pair between them, the first three show each character cloaked in darkness while being lashed with rain and what appears to be rubble.

The next three show each character in ‘stare off’ pose looking out into the distance somewhere, with the tagline “The Legend Ends” at the top.

We particularly like the Bane posters, especially the darker of the two, Tom Hardy just looks so badass. We also have a soft spot for Anne Hathaway straddling the bat bike, will she be able to pull off a sexier Catwoman than Michelle Pfeiffer?

The Dark Knight Rises opens in the UK on 20 July 2012.

First look at Catwoman Anne Hathaway

I think ‘first look’ images from films should be banned, I’m doing my level best not to view anything relating to The Dark Knight Rises, mainly so its a big surprise when I go and see it.

However, when I saw the link for this I was tempted to have a sneaky look at the gorgeous Anne Hathaway donned in full leather. Would she be every bit as sexy as Michelle Pfeiffer was in Batman?

My answer to that was not really. Hathaway, shown below straddling the Bat Bike looks just as I’d imagined, although I have no idea what the hell the mask is all about and feel that a full head cowl might be better? But I’m not going to argue too much with Chris Nolan at the helm.

The image was released by Warner Bros. and follows up on their very clever viral campaign that saw a series of intricate puzzles reveal Tom Hardy as Bane. No such joy with this one. Granted it looks good, but I only hope we don;t see too many more like this.

The Dark Knight Rises is set for release in 20th July, 2012

Potential plot for The Dark Knight Rises leaked online

Chris Nolan is going to have his work cut out if he wants to keep a lid on The Dark Knight Rises plot, as since the film was announced everybody and anyone are trying to guess just what it might be.

However reports this morning suggest that an online source has gotten their hands on a very basic summary of the plot.

So what exactly is it then? Well according to Batman-On-Film, the third instalment in the trilogy will feature The Dark Knight coming up against the League of Shadows, the vigilante organisation spearheaded by Talia al Ghul, along with Bane (Tom Hardy) as the love interest protector.

Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman will join forces with Batman for a closing out battle with the deadly organisation.

Also Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play a member of the League, that looks a lot more credible than all the other parts he has been associated with over the last few months.

We’ll take this as a massive rumour for now, at least until we hear it from the horses mouth but it does make for a very plausible story.

What do you think?

Marion Cotillard to join Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises

Another high profile actress is about to join the Batman ranks, Marion Cotillard has reportedly signed on to The Dark Knight Rises.

Cotillard who starred in last summers’ smash hit Inception is apparently keen to work with director Christopher Nolan again.

Nolan who is slowly but surely aquiring a very tasty and exciting cast having already signed up Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman would love to add Cotillard.

As reported in Le Figario: “The actress, who is expecting a child in the spring with Guillaume Canet, will be scarce this year. She’ll do a single film and her choice fell on Batman 3.

The role of Talia al Ghul may suit her perfectly, a supposed love interest of The Dark Knight himself. Even though she is pregnant shooting does not commence until May of this year which may tie in well.

The Dark Knight Rises opens 20 July, 2012.
