Nolan and Snyder to oversee Justice League

Latino Review reports today that the future of any Justice League project could be over seen by the team of Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder, with Nolan as producer and Snyder directing.

This has always been dependent on how the upcoming Superman film, Man of Steel, does at the box office. If all goes to plan and it generates a significant amount of cash for Warner then a Justice League film could swiftly be put into production.

The site claim: “Christopher Nolan has completely taken over the DCU at Warner Bros, anything having to do with these super heroes, goes through him now.”

Warner would also be hoping to persuade Christian Bale to return to the Batman role with Henry Cavill playing Superman, the Justice League film would focus on the relationship between those two characters.

I would love for this to come true, and then to blow Joss Whedon and The Avengers right out of the water. However, with Nolan stating that he’d done all he could with The Dark Knight it would seem unlikely he would be open to any links back to Gotham.

We can only hope that this rumour builds some momentum behind it, and that Man of Steel does well enough at the box office.

Man Of Steel will open in the UK on 14 June 2013.

Julia Ormond to play man of steel’s Mum

The on-going search for Superman’s parents continues with Deadline reporting that Julia Ormond is in talks to play Lara Lor-Van Superman’s Kryptonian mother in Man Of Steel.

Ormond would be a great capture after recently winning an Emmy for TV movie Temple Grandin, and she has wrapped shooting on My Week With Marilyn.

Her significant other, Kryptonian father, Jor-El is being linked to Aussie Russell Crowe who if taking on the role would join a stellar cast in what could be a great reboot of the original.

Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will play Superman’s foster parents with Amy Adams as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.

British actor Henry Cavill will be playing the man himself Superman/Clark Kent.

Man Of Steel is set for a December 2012 release.

Superman reboot plot leaked

However tight lipped you are something is always going to get out, so Superman reboot director Zack Snyder and producer Christopher Nolan must be getting increasingly frustrated about internet blogs surrounding Superman: Man of Steel‘s storyline.

One in particular is doing the web rounds and getting fans whipped into a frenzy.  According to Collider… ”A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories.

“When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.”

As Collider points out, this is in keeping with plot details that were linked to casting calls. That breakdown read: “The plot involves Clark getting involved in some sort of battle between two tribes in West Africa.

“When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, Clark returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.”

It would certainly be a more unique and original way for telling the story, but if Snyder is behind it aided by Nolan who has a knack of creating an original story about a Superhero, we should be in for a real treat.

There is no gaurntee that this is a genuine plot line so we’re just going to have to wait for more concreate evidence to arise before we go jumping to conclusions.

Superman villain role for Michael Shannon

Star of HBO smash hit Boardwalk Empire Michael Shannon is being rumoured to play the possible villain role in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot.

The talented actor who had an Oscar nom for his turn in Revolutionary Road and is now playing a blinder in Empire is being lined up alongside Edgar Ramirez for the part.

Deadline report that the identity of the villain is as yet unknown and whether this would be General Zod would be anyone’s guess, but both actors would be a great choice.

Ramirez is most known for his leading role in Carlos, and has recently signed on to play Ares in Wrath of the Titans.

Nothing is confirmed as yet who’ll eventually snare the role, but keep checking back here soon to find out.
