At last its the news that every tuxedo wearing, Martini drinking Bond fan wanted to hear, Bond 23 is back on track.
After what has seemed like an age of legal wranglings as film studio MGM had to battle their way out of a deep financial crisis they can now put the champagne on ice.
Deadline have confirmed previous reports that Bond 23 has been given an official release date of November 9th 2012.
And it will be even more special as that year coincides with the 50th anniversary of the first ever Bond film, Dr. No. Hmm maybe some forward planning there.
Sam Mendes will direct which is great news and he’ll be working from a script by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Peter Morgan, with production officially starting later this year.
Daniel Craig will yet again be slipping into that now famous tux for his third outing something which we’re pretty pleased to hear!
MGM is now fielding offers from various studios to distribute the film, with Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace home base Sony and Paramount said to be the big contenders.
