The Hangover Part 2 gets teaser trailer

Here’s a good way to cap off the week with the first look at the teaser trailer for The Hangover Part 2, the gang is back albeit minus one member.

The trailer gives nothing away about what to expect which is great as I hate it when all the best bit’s are revealed, and relies mainly on past critic reviews.

There is a bit of dialogue when Zach Galifianakis says that its great that the three of them are all back together. It also appears that the lion has been swapped for a monkey.

We can’t wait for Liam Neeson’s cameo! The film opens 27 March.

Limitless – 2011

A copywriter discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human abilities.

Directed: Neil Burger

Stars: Bradley CooperAnna FrielAbbie Cornish and Robert De Niro

What we think: This one’s got some potential, and not because landing Robert De Niro as a cast member gauarantess your film a high profile.

It’s seems like an exciting plot and looking at the trailer will have some gripping cat and mouse games involving De Niro, who does like he’s getting on a bit these days.

Based on the novel by Alan Glynn and a screenplay from Leslie Dixon who wrote the very slick and stylish Thomas Crown Affair, sees Cooper’s copy writer take up an exciting proposition from a friend.

This of course may seem great at first glance but typically as with most Hollywood thrillers lands him in trouble.

Directed by Neil Burger (The Illusionist and The Lucky Ones) Limitless has all the hall marks of a great film, let’s hope it lives up to expectations.

Neeson replaces Gibson in The Hangover 2

Liam Neeson will replace Mel Gibson as the tattoo artist in The Hangover Part II.

Gibson was originally down to play the cameo part but after certain cast members voiced their concerns Gibson was dropped.

While the original movie revolved around a Las Vegas bachelor party that devolves into a drunken lost weekend, the follow-up tracks the same stars Bradley CooperZack GalifianakisEd Helms and Justin Bartha, on a trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

The tattoo artist is one of the characters the guys need to track down during their adventures. He is described as “crazy” and “intense,” “someone you’re afraid to talk to.” It is unclear if the part will be altered to incorporate the sensibilities of Neeson.

The actor’s deal hasn’t technically closed but the actor is already in L.A.

It was Cooper, who starred with Neeson in this summer’s The A-Team that was instrumental in getting Neeson the part.

Gibson’s casting, when made public earlier this week, triggered an internal backlash at the studio and on the film set.

Zach Galifianakis appears to be one of those who objected to Gibson, whose anti-Semitic, racist and misogynist rants have made him radioactive in some Hollywood circles.

Galifianakis said on a podcast last week, “I’m in deep protest right now about a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something.”

The Hangover – 2009

Another buddy comedy, another road trip, another story that follows in the same line as many before it. That might be true, but The Hangover was the kind of screwball comedy that many film fans were craving, and easily the funniest of 2009.

It’s quite simple, four best friends Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug head to Vegas for one night of freedom before Doug ties the knot. They wake up, minus Doug in their hotel room with no recollection of what happened the night before. What happens is a hilarious course of events to find their friend, as well as re-trace their steps from the previous night.

Rarely, and not since Dumb and Dumber and Road Trip, has a film made me laugh continuously out loud. But The Hangover delivers on all and much more, you grow to love the characters, none more so than Alan (Zach Galifianakids) who was brilliant as another iconic buffoon in the same guise as a McLovin.

Most will know how it ends, happily and in the nick of time as always. But rest assured that you move from one laugh to the next in a continuous motion, never does the script stall for any reason. I highly rate this film, and it’s another triumph for director Todd Phillips who brought us Road Trip, another equally funny buddy adventure.

DVD Extras: Audio commentary by director Todd Phillips, and the rest of the guys. There are a couple of featurettes including ‘Map of Destruction’ which gives viewers the chance to look at all locations the boys went too.

There is a short gag reel as well as some missing photos from their camera, but none as funny as the ones shown at the end credits

Blu-ray Extras: As the same for the DVD version.
