M. Night Shyamalan Hits Back With Devil

We’ve been waiting for time for the weird subconscious mind of M. Night Shyamalan to come back with something truly terrifying, and at last it looks like he’s pulled it off. When he first stepped into Hollywood with The Sixth Sense we cheered and jumped with joy that someone had stamped a solid ‘F’ on fear.

However, he followed that up with Unbreakable which should have been titled Unbearable, seemingly pulled it back with Signs and totally lost the plot with The Village and even worse The Happening!

With Devil Shyamalan is only producing and has handed the directorial reigns over to Drew and John Erick Dowdle who helmed the remake of Spanish horror flick Rec, and converted it into Quarantine. We shouldn’t judge them on that performance though as early indications suggest that Devil is going to be a no holds barred, edge of your seat pants changer (oh please say it is!)

The basic storyline is simple, five different people enter an elevator with one member seemingly the devil, but which one? With the elevator stuck half way up the building strange things start to happen and it’s a race against time to discover just who is the unwanted guest amongst them.

So fingers crossed for this one then, Devil is out in cinemas 17 September and will be reviewed in a future post!
