I Love You Man is a rom-com with a difference, it’s a bromance not a romance so I think will appeal to the male audience. After proposing to his girlfriend Zooey, real estate agent Peter Klaven realizes that he has never had a male best friend. With his wedding day looming he goes on the hunt to find a man with whom he can hopefully share a special bond with.

Paul Rudd is an icon for these types of comedies, having starred in hits such as Knocked Up, and more notably Role Models he was the perfect choice to play this part. His potential best friend came in the shape of Jason Segel with whom he is reunited again fresh from Knocked Up. The pairs on screen chemistry is brilliant throughout and they share a number of funny scenes together in the style of any buddy movie.

It is great to see Rudd as the main character, for so long he has always been in wings as either the brother-in-law or the best friend until now. Director John Hamburg, who co-wrote Meet The Parents and Zoolander for Ben Stiller and wrote and directed Along Came Polly unleashes his comedic vision here. While he might not be at the levels of a certain Judd Aptow he has done his credibility no harm here whatsoever.

I Love You Man is a light hearted joy ride that should keep audiences filled with enough laughs throughout.
