Shockingly good!

Shockingly good!

Funny Games is one of these films that is guaranteed to leave you with your jaw on the floor, it is suspenseful as it is terrifying.

A remake of the 1998 Austrian film of the same name, it is also directed by the same man Michael Haneke. The film was remade for American audiences with a view to shocking them, and it doesn’t disappoint one bit.

A family travel out to a lake side house only to be terrorized by two well spoken young men, its films like these that really send shivers down your spine.

The two boys are dead pan actors, they are calm and calculated psychopaths that get off on the pain and suffering of others. Naomi Watts is exceptional and Tim Roth does an equally good job too.

The cinematography for Funny Games is very similar to the original but then I guess Haneke didn’t want to lose any of the story or dress it up and garnish it for Hollywood. It’s just a brutally shocking film that will have audiences who love this terror genre enthralled.
