The Hangover Part 2 gets teaser trailer

Here’s a good way to cap off the week with the first look at the teaser trailer for The Hangover Part 2, the gang is back albeit minus one member.

The trailer gives nothing away about what to expect which is great as I hate it when all the best bit’s are revealed, and relies mainly on past critic reviews.

There is a bit of dialogue when Zach Galifianakis says that its great that the three of them are all back together. It also appears that the lion has been swapped for a monkey.

We can’t wait for Liam Neeson’s cameo! The film opens 27 March.

Source Code gets a new trailer

Jake Gyllenhaal’s new film feels like a cross between Quantum Leap and Speed.

Directed by Duncan Jones who brought us the brilliant but ever so slightly weird Moon this features Gyllenhaal reliving the last 8 minutes before a commuter train explodes.

Released April 1st this is going to be one of the years’ top thrillers. Going deeper into the plot Gyllenhaal plays Colter Stevens a solider who is transported into the body of one of the soon to be dead passengers via some funky technology called the source code.

Also thrown into the mix is Christina (Michelle Monaghan), a passenger on the train who Colter falls for, I mean as if you haven’t got enough to do in 8 minutes.

He only has the alloted time to track down the terrorist and report back to Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright before another attack somewhere else in the city happens.

Of course selflessly Colter tries to do too much, what with saving his new found love interest things start to change subtly each time he goes back…sounds exciting.

The trailer below certainly has a lot of explosions and effects, one hopes the acting lives up to it as well or the film could really end up a train crash.

New trailer for Suker Punch

At last some proper girl power and not a red bus or Richard E. Grant in sight, yes its the latest trailer for Sucker Punch directed by Zack Snyder.

Snyder who has directed some pretty impressive films such as 300, Watchman and Dawn of the Dead brings his unique brand of action sequences and effects to the screen. The film features a young girl who is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather.

There she slips into an alternative reality in order to cope and there hatches a plan which will help her and a few other sexy femme fatales escape.

As far as trailers go its one of the best we have seen so far this year, and gives a good insight into the story and world that the girls create not too mention the epic special effects.

Sucker Punch ass-kicks its way into cinemas April1st 2011.

Apollo 18 trailer lands online

Ever wondered why we never went back to the moon, well check out the trailer below for the new horror/thriller Apollo 18 and it might shed some light on that very reason.

Directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego and written by Brian Miller the film focusses on the 18th manned mission to the moon, which ultimately went a bit wrong and was covered up by NASA.

This is more than just “Houston we have a problem”, as the crew on board experience strange goings on in and around their spaceship, not to mention on the actual surface of the moon.

As with any found footage its the sense of reality that makes it great, that much is clear from the success of The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Acivity, lets hope this one follows suit.

James Wan’s Insidious premiers online

James Wan has been keeping relatively quiet since his last feature film Death Sentence received mediocre reviews, with a short called Doggie Heaven keeping him occupied he is now ready to release his next big budget horror…Insidious.

Written by Leigh Whannell, you may remember him as the poor bastard chained to the wall in Saw and left to rot. Well he got out long enough to pen this little chiller which is also produced by the people that brought us Paranormal Activity.

Starring Patrick WilsonRose Byrne and Ty Simpkins the film focusses on a family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.

Sounds interesting enough, the trailer shows certain paranormal goings on that we have come to associate these films with so Wan is going to have to deliver something unique.

A UK release date for this film has yet to be announced but a good guess would be end of Spring.
