Arterton In Line For Alien Prequels?
Gemma Arterton could about to be filling the role made famous by one Sigourney Weaver in Ridley Scott’s Alien prequels as the franchise’s new female action warrior.
While talking with The Times, Arterton revealed that she’s planning on meeting with Scott about the grisly prequels – which Scott yesterday assured fans would be “really nasty”.
Arterton reportedly caught the Gladiator director’s eye with her ball-busting performance in indie flick The Disappearance Of Alice Creed, and he requested a meeting with her.
“Ridley Scott saw Alice Creed and loved it,” Arterton says. “He wants me to meet for Aliens: The Remake, or something.”
It’s certainly not going to be a remake, so she’ll have to get clued up in regards to that, but it’s interesting to see where this project is going.
Arterton has seemingly proven herself already with big budget films such as Clash Of The Titans and Prince Of Persia. So she can handle herself in an action scene and knows how to reign it in.
