A Perfect Getaway – 2009

Slow start but great finish!

Slow start but great finish!

A Perfect Getaway is set against the picturesque backdrop of Hawaii and there was no better place to set the scene for a tense gripping thriller like this. A newlywed couple on their honeymoon played by Steven Zahn and the sexy Milla Jovovich meet up with another pair of lovers, Hitman’s Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez.

The group discover that somewhere on the island another couple are murdering tourists in a horrific and grizzly way. Convinced that the other fit the bill, the foursome read each other until the gripping climax.

Seasoned movie film goers will probably spot the twist coming a mile off, but what a twist it is! The script is tight and the direction is gritty while still accounting for some beautiful shots, you’re left playing a guessing game right up until all is revealed.

Acting wise it stands well against other main stream thrillers, it has a bit of a slow start and you’ll probably wonder if it was even worth it but believe me it is!
